It's SNOWING.

FUCK YOU WEATHER.

Grrrrrrrr.

The weather wasn't what I wanted to talk about, actually. I actually wanted to talk about Veganism.

See, it just amazes me how a simple eating habit/lifestyle can be so insulting to people.

Also, I also find this hilairous: when I'm at some sort of family gathering, and a lot of my family is very traditional-thinking, so obviously if i dont eat animal products I'm gonna shrivel up and die, right? Cause as im sitting there, doing whatever im doing, my 2 aunts are sitting nearby and their voices are slowly raising in volume about how they think they people "need" meat to survive, blah, blah.

Yeah, they'll probably shit a brick when they find out that when im on my game and not being lazy about what im eating its as healthy as ive ever been xD

A lot of people ask me, "Why are you Vegan?" they seem shocked, and I am still not sure what all the fuss is about, to be honest.

I went Vegetarian officially when i was 16, after many poor attempts, I finally went cold turkey, no pun intended. At that time, I knew nothing about nutrition, so I was basically living on cheese sandwiches. But regardless, I stuck with it.

About 2 years later, I finally converted to Vegan. Its funny, my mom didnt think I;d be able to do it, but after living on a little more than bread and water for a month, I dropped 18 lbs and my mom started investing in soy milk so that I wouldnt die xD not literally...just so you know.

A while after that, my mom insisted I get tested to see if I was healthy. Blood tests and such for calcium, b12, iron, protein, etc. I was actually healthier being Vegan than I ever was being simply vegetarian. 2 years later, im stil vegan :D

Now this does not answer the question: Um...why?

At first it was for ethical reasons. I didn't like the idea of animals being killed for the benefit of my tastebuds, and even in the cases of dairy cows and egg hens, it was still unnerving. I won't go into details, this post isnt for me just to bitch about animal cruelty.

Now I do realise that a lot of canadian farms arent cruel to their animals, but its hard to tell which are and which arent, and at this point I have no desire to return to eating dairy. I am being completely honest when I say that the smell of milk nauseates me.

"But what do you eat?" I love this question cause my answer, "Food." usually really annoys people. In all honesty, I dont see my eating habits as abnormal. I drink soy milk for calcium, b12 and other vitamins, and I can also get protein, iron, and calcium from some grains like quinoa, millet, and such.

Sooo yeah :)
